Dave and I have a shared interest in creating things out of clay. I throw pots on the wheel and am primarily interested in making things to be used in the home. As a final touch, I love to alter pots or carve designs into them. Dave hand builds decorative pieces and sculpts small figures. He is also responsible for formulating our glazes and applying them. We have operated Junkyard Pottery since 1999 as a retail store in scenic McCreary Co. We have both taken pottery courses at the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina, which is a fun way to learn new techniques and explore different ideas.
