I have been inspired by stained glass art all my life. I was mesmerized, during my childhood, by the beautiful stained glass windows in the churches and cathedrals my family visited and attended. I was drawn to the mixing of colors, patterns and designs I saw in these works of art. I collected stained glass art over the years, but it wasn’t until I retired from a career with the U.S. Forest Service, that I decided to turn my dreams and passion into works of art.
My Stained Glass designs are my unique creations and are centered on my love of nature. After reviewing both traditional and contemporary designs, I have decided to develop a theme of “ breaking the boundaries”. With this theme I break the traditional static border around a design by letting the lead came, or copper foil, or even the internal glass design itself extend into and through the border.
In this way, as does nature, I can create the unexpected.
My works include landscapes and patterns that reflect nature and its delights, as well as commissioned works for churches, organizations and individuals.
